Isabelle Caplin

Water Safety Instructor, Still Water Lifeguard, Water Aerobics Instructor

Isabelle Caplin is a rising junior at the University of Pennsylvania and grew up in Sag Harbor, attending Pierson High School. Growing up surrounded by the water, swimming has played a central role in her life. She joined the East Hampton Hurricanes Swim Team in sixth grade, only solidifying her love of swimming. She served as captain of both the East Hampton Hurricanes Swim Team and East Hampton High School’s Varsity Swim Team in her senior year of high school. This love of the water surrounding her has made her more attuned to water safety and contributes to her love of sharing her admiration of the water to new swimmers.

Now, she is in her fourth summer teaching swim lessons. She works for I-Tri Girls, a local nonprofit that empowers and trains middle school girls for a triathlon, often working with girls who have never swam prior. She also is the Head Swim Professional for a family-focused country club in East Hampton.

During the school year, she is on board of UPenn’s Club Swim Team and is Co-Head of Volunteer Training for Penn’s subsection of Special Needs Undergraduate Swim Lessons (SNUGS) where she trains new volunteers along with teaching special needs children in Philadelphia to swim.
